Our biologists and teaming partners regularly see cool and exciting things in the field, but sometimes the photos just don’t do it all justice. Luckily, our teaming partner and permitted small-mammal specialist, Philippe Vergne, was able to get this photo of a Los Angeles Pocket Mouse, a CDFW Species of Special Concern, that we just can’t get enough of! Philippe was able to get this photo during a protocol trapping effort he was conducting on behalf of Artemis in Rancho Cucamonga, California.

Other work Artemis conducted for this project included habitat assessments for the Delhi Sands flower-loving fly, coastal California gnatcatcher, western burrowing owl, and San Bernardino kangaroo rat. Thanks for the great photo, Philippe!
